BEWARE!

BEWARE! Reconciliation required.

I know of a friend whose mom brought him and his siblings up single-handedly after his father passed away. Thankfully, they were rather well-to-do. However, his mother did not have very good relationships with her siblings and a couple of her children. In fact, only my friend stays with his mom. This mother shared how she educated her children when they were young; I was very impressed with her modern methods of child rearing. While her children are now high achievers, I could sense her loneliness, having only a son with her and no grandchildren, unlike her siblings. What was comforting was that she leads a pretty active life and has good church friends whom she constantly fellowships with. I pray she will be reconciled with her siblings and her children. I pray it will not be too late.

BEWARE! Self-control required.

Being high sure feels great!!! It’s feels like life is back to normal – I can cook, go out and spend time with the children. There is a problem though: I could feel the desire to control creeping into my veins again. So I will insist on things my way at the time I want it and dish out instructions here and there. My patience and grace runs out very quickly.  I pray to submit daily to the Lord. I pray to give Him control.

BEWARE! Life required.

My mom, who has an irregular heartbeat, is on medication. At times when she experiences quickening of her pulse, she may feel giddy and uncomfortable. The doctor had checked her and had suggested surgery. We hope to meet with the doctor this week to discuss further. I asked my mom if she would accept Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. She saw how I have trusted in the Lord and thus is motivated to pray daily for God to heal me. However, she found it hard to take the step if she doesn’t feel His Presence. I’m touched by her love but I reminded her of her need for salvation.  I pray she will choose eternal life.

BEWARE! Love required.

I came to know of friends who found themselves ill at health, friends who have lost their loved ones and friends with marital problems. My heart aches and weeps for them and their families. While I may be able to offer suggestions, I am not sure how to help the emotions. So I pray. I pray you will find your consolation in the Lord. I pray that you will trust in Him and allow Him to love you and guide you. He never fails.

Psalm 10:16-18

The LORD is King for ever and ever;
the nations will perish from his land.

You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

I was asking God all the ‘whys’ and He reminded me of Jesus’ prayer and what He said to His disciples.

John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

John 17:15-16

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. or God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
